Pressure Washing Equipment
A pressure washer is a widespread cleaning unit that removes surface dirt, algae, and grime. Pressure washing equipment uses a high-pressure stream of water arranged in an abrasive jet. Subsequently, the soil breaks down into smaller particles that are scrubbed away by the action of the same water stream. Also, they come in cold water or hot water power washing form.
Commercial vs. Consumer
Commercial and consumer pressure washers share many similarities, but some key differences exist. You first need to know that the consumer-grade equipment is for small residential use (cleaning cars, patios, decks). On the other hand, commercial pressure washers clean larger surfaces (driveways, buildings, large masonry walls). They have features that make them easier to use in professional settings. Commercial pressure washers are bigger and more powerful than consumer-grade models. Designed to be pushed around or mounted to a truck bed or trailer. Also, they typically have an engine that can idle while the pump runs. The higher capacity makes them suitable for use on larger surfaces and in harsh conditions that would damage a consumer-grade unit. As you can imagine, commercial power washers are much more robust than consumer-grade pressure washers to withstand the rigors of daily commercial use.
More About Commercial Equipment
Commercial machines typically have steel or aluminum framing, making them more durable or chemical resistant depending on the use. They also include features like heavy-duty motors, pumps, and larger heat exchangers. As a result, this enables them to maintain optimal cleaning temperatures even under heavy load conditions. The water flow or GPM is much more than what comes out of a residential spigot. For this reason, a large freshwater tank is a must.
Other Pressure Washing Equipment
Operators must use smaller equipment pieces with pressure washers. Hoses and guns show ratings for different psi and water flow, and Commercial hoses are much more robust and longer. Tips that go into the end of the gun or lance (wand) have to match the flow ratings of the machine to produce the proper psi. Other tools that are mostly unknown by the general public are soft wash machines, downstream injectors, and upstream injectors. All three are for applying detergents and chemicals to a surface. Surface cleaners are essential to any exterior cleaning company. They clean concrete and come in many sizes.
